Angie’s List is seeking nominations for our annual Wishmakers program. The Wishmakers program began four years ago when a young girl wrote Angie’s List asking for assistance for her ailing parents. Angie’s List rallied several local service companies to help clean the family’s home and complete other projects that needed to be done.
This year Angie’s List is seeking nominations for folks deserving a helping hand. While we’re not trying to compete with popular makeover shows we are hoping to attract a solid group of individuals and/or families who may need our assistance. Past Wishmaker projects include:
- Kitchen renovation and landscaping for a wheelchair-bound mother of seven
- Space organization for a mother of six who had overcome *** cancer
- Construction of a threshold ramp for a couple with limited mobility
- New washer/dryer and house cleaning for an ailing, elderly couple
- New kitchen cabinets and a countertop for a foster care provider
Nominations will be accepted from May 1, 2007, to July 15, 2007, via email at wishmakers@angieslist.com. Only nominations including the submitter’s name, city, state, phone number, a specific wish, the nominee’s name and their contact number will be considered. No self-nominations will be accepted. Please keep nominations under 300 words.
After reviewing the nominations, Angie’s List will partner with companies that are highly rated by Angie’s List members to grant the top 10 wishes.
