Angie's List is now accepting reports on healthcare providers, like dentists, pediatricians, primary care and chiropractors just to name a few. In all, 50 new categories have been released with more to follow in the coming weeks. In a recent poll, 76% of members said they wanted this service. Here are a few examples of the additional questions you can answer regarding your healthcare experience: - Was the office staff helpful and courteous?
- Were the waiting and examination areas clean and
comfortable?
- Did the office staff file insurance claims for
you (if applicable)?
- Did the physician explain things in a way that
you could understand?
- Did you feel you could make your concerns
understood to the physician?
- Did your physician (or office staff) follow up
with you to determine if the treatment was effective?
- What did you like most/least about this
physician?
- What words of advice would you give other members
considering this physician?

Gas
prices shot up last week and I don’t know about you but I already find myself
combining errands and seeking out the cheapest gas in town, if only to save a
few cents. The prices are also forcing service companies to change course and
some have to increase prices to make do.
My
advice to companies is be upfront about passing along the costs; most customers
will understand if they're alerted to it because we're paying more, too.

the results of our exclusive poll of Angie’s List service companies.

For the second year in a row, Angie's List has been named one of the best places to work in Indiana! The annual Indiana Chamber of Commerce survey recognizes companies for their ability to create a strong workplace culture in which employees feel valued. More than 120 companies participated in the survey, and 66 were named among the best. Angie's List is among 25 large companies receiving top marks. "We're thrilled, of course, to have earned this distinction again. It's becoming our annual 'note to self,' reminding us to stay focused on making Angie's List a great place to work, as well as a great resource for our members," said Angie Hicks, founder of Angie's List. Angie's List will celebrate its 13th year in 2008. The Chamber survey is in its 3rd year.

The nation’s home warranty companies have earned the dubious
distinction as the most complained-about service on Angie's List in 2007. Thirty-eight
percent of the reports for home warranty companies were “F” grades. In
addition, architects, structural engineering and solar panel companies
made the bottom ten for the second year in a row.
Angie’s List collected nearly 300,000 reports in 2007 from members who
graded service companies on overall experience, price, quality,
responsiveness and punctuality. Warranty companies attracted the
greatest percentages of “F” grades out of more than 280 categories of
service. See which services received the least complaints.

Flowers and candy make great gifts, but we've compiled a list of alternative ways to say "I love you." Spending the time to be
creative or tailoring a gift to what your loved one will want will
probably be the most appreciated. Hiring a housecleaning or errand
service - or even a day at the spa - may be just the right gift for those who are crunched for time. Get more ideas.
