I found this company. Upon doing some research on them, I found out that they are not licensed in DC or in VA. There is a salesman named Cliff Small there and he is the sales manager (according to him). I looked him up on the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and I discovered that he does not have a MD salesman's license. I also found a web site called elegantfloorservicesisillegal.com. I can't believe that this company has been getting business through this web site! They will not get mine. Be careful of this company for they are unlicensed and illegal.

 

I call 411 today looking for Elegant Floor Services. They gave me the telephone number (703) 288-9600. A nice man named Brian called me back and when I told him that I saw one of his vans on 495, he told me that it was not one of his van but a van of an illegal company called Elegant Floor Services. Brian told me that Elegant Floor Services is operating illegally in Virginia and in DC. They do have business licenses or contractor licenses in either one of these states and they have been operating illegally there for over 2.5 years. Brian also told me that they never paid business taxes on their sales there too. Also, Brian claims that neither one of their salesman (Cliff Small or Joe McCreary) have either a DC or MD salesman's licenses which is a crime. I did check on the Maryland Home Improvement Commission's web site as instructed by Brian and he was right that neither Mr. Small or Mr. McCreary have salesman licenses. Brian says that he has a law suit and has filed a restraining motion to stop them from conducting business. Brian told me that he was a former Fairfax Police Detective and that he had conducted a indept undercover investigation of this company. I sent Elegant Floor Services an e mail, from their web site and they did not answer it. I guess Brian was telling the truth. I am going to give my floor business to Brian for if you can't trust a former Fairfax Police Detective - who can you trust? Brian also got my attention when he told me that he will show me something that I would never see from the illegal Elegant Floor Services - A CONTRACTORS LICENSE!  Wow! am I glad that I found a legal contractor!

That's old news.  Elegant Floor Services did my floors and they did an outstanding job.   I happen to be aware that the originator of this topic (Elegant Floor Services) and the critical messages is actually a disgruntled former employee  who has nothing better to do than  try to trash the company that gave him an opportunity to make a living.   This guy's a scam artist, ignore  him.   Elegant is a great company that's been around for almost 20 years.

That is simply untrue and your information is way off! I checked and they are anything but legal!

STEVE5612 is nothing more than Robert Steven White the criminal who operates Elegant Floor Services in Rockville, Maryland. His e mail address is swhite5612@comcast.net. His wife posted a false report yesterday on another site. They are very foolish to think that they can scam the public with these untrue postings but Robert Steven White has been scamming the public for over 2 years. He is a criminal and ought to be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There are two lawsuits filed against White and this company. A third law suit will be filed shortly against White's wife for the libelous comments she has posted on a web site.

I was never a former employee. I was hired to look into them getting properly licensed. When I discovered that they could never get a license legally in Maryland or Virginia, I failed to accept employment with them as a salesman. I will not violate the law. I am a former Fairfax Police Detective. White and his team of illegal salesmen certainly have no problem in doing so. They all have been doing it for quite a while. In fact, when I told White he could not get a license legally, he laughed at me! Then he turned around and put another advertisement on Craig's List looking for another salesman who had no problem working illegally.

Look, when they come to your house.....simply ask them to produce their contractor's licenses for whatever state you are in. If you live in DC or MD, their salesman need home improvement saleman licenses. When they can't produce one, call me and I will produce them all to you. I will beat their price too and I AM LEGAL!

P. S. I look forward to litigating this lawsuit in both Virginia and Maryland. Then the real criminal will be exposed and the public will be safe from the likes of illegal contractors such as White who has been cheating local governments out of taxes for years and scaming the public by representing themselves to be a legal contractor.

In Case Number 2007-10709, styled Allman v Foxclark Acquisitions, Inc. and Robert Steven White, which is filed in The Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, Robert Steven White filed the following written response with the court; "FOXCLARK RECOGNIZES IT'S VIRGINIA LICENSE SHORTCOMING AND IS MAKING A 1ST PRIORITY EFFORT TO CORRECT IT. IF NECESSARY, FOXCLARK WILL MAKE WHATEVER RESTITUTION THE VIRGINIA BOARD OF CONTRACTORS DEEMS IS APPROPRIATE". That says it all!

I was the original owner of Elegant Floor Service in Silver Spring Maryland.  The Company

was founded in 1987 and is incorperated in the State of Maryland, and a member of the Maryland Home Improvement Commision.  When I sold my Company to Mr White, it had an upstanding reputation, and still does.  I understand that this so called gentlemen "Brian" had a postion with the company, but lacked the integrity to show up and take care of his customers.  Elegant Floors was my baby and I treated as so.  People that have to commit fraud by stealing other company names to start there own business shows lack of character, which is why he is not with Elegant floors.  When I sold my company, we were doing 30 to 60 jobs per week for almost 17 years.  Check with the BBB.  The company has an impecable reputation.  I sure anyone interested in getting there floors done can get as many referances from Mr White as needed.  Proof of the pudding is the licking of the spoon
