I just had my oak parquet and plank flooring refinished in my new condo. The floors are really old and hadn't been redone in at least 20 years. They sanded them all down, replaced bad boards, and put 2 coats of semi-gloss poly. Here's my issue:
They look really dull. It's almost as if the floor soaked up all of the poly and there's no shine to it. How much should they shine with semi-gloss poly? I've done furniture before with semi-gloss and they were more glossy. Also, how smooth should the floors be? They seem rougher than I would have expected.
Should I have the refinisher put another coat of poly down after another sanding? Or is there something I can do to buff/shine up the floors myself?
