I currently have aluminum windows with single pane glass throughout my house. I need to replace one broken window pane and this has lead me to consider getting 1. new vinyl windows throughout the house (with double pane low-e glass) or 2. double pane low-e glass in the existing aluminum frames.
I know that double pane low-e glass will be more energy efficient than the single pane glass that I currently have.
*But I'm not sure if paying more for new vinyl windows would be a good investment (versus just getting the double pane low-e glass in the existing aluminum frames).
Any advice on this?
