Choosing a window company (San Francisco East Bay Area)

Choosing a window company (San Francisco East Bay Area)

I'm getting new windows for my 30 year old, 2 story house. So far, I've been looking at Anlin windows (sold and installed by Custom Exteriors, and West Coast Windows), Milgard (Omni Windows), and Brother's Home Improvement's own brand windows. I've also been in contact with a contractor who installs replacement windows (new construction) (brand Cascade) and it's way more invasive and expensive (almost $17.000) and time/labor consuming than retrofit.

Advice anyone? The price estimates are around the same amount, $10.500 - $13.000.

But which one of the brands is THE best, which company to trust... they all say bad things about each other.
