what contractor I need to hire?

I have a townhouse in chicago having mold grown in my frist floor area.  After the mold specialist inspection, I need to find a contractor to fix the water leak problem and another one to fix the mold.  The leakage is related to my second floor outdoor deck. So I was recommded to find a roofing contractor. Now my question is if I use this "roofing contractor" terminology to find my contrctor?

Is there such a title called roofing contractor? Or I need to search through the general contractor? Thanks for your suggestion.

Well, if you're not an Angies List member look in the yellow pages under "r" or perhaps "roofing".

I am a member here. OTHERWISE, I don't know how I can access this website? Do you mean I need to hire a roofing contractor?

I just invited a roofing contractor to inspect my house. He suggest I need to hire three types of contract. One is roofing, second one is mold remediator, the third one is drywall contractor.  I guess this make sense since none of  them can actually replace other trade persons.

Do I hire too much persons? Will there have some potential warranty problems?  Please advice...

If someone recommended you hire a roofing contractor then he must have recognized the problem, perhaps some flashing repaired or something.  Fix the leak first then go after the mold which could involve replacing some drywall.

Be very careful on the "mold" issues as it can turn into a can of worms. Is it (the mold) in the walls? How will you know and what responsibility will you put on the contractor? A mold mediator /contractor will not want to minimize the issues, but are you willing and able to pay for the clean up?

I was on a job one time and contracted some drywall repair from a roof leak in a garage and we found mold behind the walls that was very extensive and would have been very costly to repair -the inside of this wall was the house -  I was told they would not pay for the extra work and to just patch the walls in the garage - I lost out on that job - patched the wall in the garage - wrote with marker "Mold damage inside wall" Took pictures and left. End of story. No reputable contractor will want to take on that responsibility of leaving mold un-repaired.
