    Rock Tops Marble & Granite

This business is new to the Columbus area and was wondering if anyone had experience with them in thier other locations?   Good/bad/ugly?  The other locations in thier ad are:  Grand Rapids, Noblesville, IN (Indianpolis), Macomb, Holly, Wixom and Saline, MI.

They supply and install marble/granite countertops.

    Thanks.

We purchased granite from Rock Tops in Saline, MI for a new home we are building in Ann Arbor.   They promised that we could have a single slab of granite for a large island in the kitchen.   This was discussed multiple times with our sales person, David as well as Steve who came and measured.  When we went to select the actual slab for this island we talked with Jim.    They did not have a single slab large enough in our original color and we had to then choose another color so that we could get the island in one piece.    When the granite was delivered for installation, the island was in 2 pieces.   We immediately called the sales person, customer service rep and the owner.   The owner immediately refused to change this and has yet to return any calls.  We have left over 9 messages in the last 5 days.   Also it now appears that the sales manger has also stopped calling.    I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Re: Rock Tops Marble & Granite

We used Rock Tops for a whole-house remodel this summer because they had a stunning array of granite and the best prices in town. We selected (and gave a heft downpayment for) our slabs long before we were ready to install, so I was a little disappointed that when I called to schedule measuring, I was shuffled to the bottom of the queue. The lag between measuring and installation was very long, but maybe that's typical..?

Unfortunately, one piece was not measured correctly and one backsplash was missing. I talked them into leaving the incorrect piece in place so we could pass inspection and was told the replacement piece would be a rush job, ready in one week. Two weeks later I called to find out where it was. Finally, it was in, but I was again thrown to the bottom of the queue for an installation date. I complained to the head installation guy, who bumped me up.

Now, despite a few hassles (which was typical for the whole remodeling project with just about every subcontractor and especially the GC), we have gorgeous counter tops.
